Reo reported witnessing violations approximately once a week at his own bus stop. He highlighted a collaborative effort with the Wall Township Police Department to address this issue and thanked the police chief for his support. However, Reo urged the board and community to support state legislation, specifically Assembly Bill A-3887 and Senate Bill S-1469, which would authorize law enforcement to issue summonses based on recorded school bus stop-arm violations. He referenced a pilot program in Woodbridge that recorded over 2,800 illegal passings in three months. This call to action aimed to enhance student safety by advocating for more robust measures.

The meeting also celebrated the achievements of several students in the Wall Township Public School District. Notable recognitions included Mave Donovan, Erin McBaron, and Ava Walling for their accomplishments in the Monmouth County Law Day contest. Mave earned first place in the essay contest, while Erin secured second place in poetry. The contest’s theme revolved around “the rule of law and the American dream,” challenging students to explore its implications through historical examples or personal insights. Their work highlighted the rule of law’s role in pursuing the American dream, emphasizing its fundamental place in society.

Moreover, the student representative provided a report on various student activities and events. The class of 2026 celebrated Decision Day, where seniors shared their post-graduation plans in a festive atmosphere. The event, which featured music, games, and refreshments, aimed to foster unity among students. Additional activities included a college tour to Stockton University and a class trip to Yankee Stadium, both serving as opportunities for students to create lasting memories. Upcoming events mentioned included senior awards nights, a trip to Six Flags, and the senior prom.
