A major focus of the meeting was the announcement of the thriving community garden at River Road Park, which has become a model for other municipalities, as noted by the engineers at Boswell. The garden boasts approximately 180 plots, with 90% already full and a waitlist for new participants. The project has received positive feedback from the community, underscoring its success as a recreational facility.

Adjacent to the community garden, improvements at the Jacobus Vanderveer House were discussed. The house, now equipped with a new roof, is set to host monthly events and tours, activating the historical site more than in previous years. Upcoming events include a Betsy Ross-related program and a celebration of Henry Knox’s birthday.

In other developments, the township’s acquisition and planned transformation of a property in Pluckemin into a pocket park was outlined. The park will feature parking, historic interpretation, and leisure amenities.

The Land Use Board also addressed the Trump National Golf Course’s Lamington Farm Golf Club site plan application, postponing its discussion to August 13th. Additionally, the determination of completeness for modifications to Fiddler’s Elbow’s recreational facilities was confirmed, scheduling further discussions for July.
