The proposed wellness center, envisioned as a $35 million facility, aims to serve as a vibrant community resource. The facility is planned to include an aquatics center, multi-sport fieldhouse, and other amenities typical of a YMCA. The project has garnered strong community support, with a fundraising campaign already raising $9 million of the targeted $15 million.

Further discussions touched on the county’s public transit board and its relevance. The board considered dissolving the joint powers agreement that established the transit board in 1999, recognizing that the need for such a structure has diminished since the Paul Bunyan Transit system began receiving direct state funding.
