Boston Licensing Board Considers KFC’s Closing Time Extension and Other Managerial Changes
- Meeting Overview:
During the Boston Licensing Board meeting on October 22, 2025, several significant petitions were discussed, with the most notable being the request from DE Foods LLC, operating Kentucky Fried Chicken, to extend its closing hours from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for multiple locations. The Kentucky Fried Chicken request was presented as a response to consumer demand for extended hours. The business partners with third-party delivery services like Uber Eats, GrubHub, and DoorDash, which may further benefit from the extended operational hours. It was reported that a community meeting held on September 25th was lightly attended, but the attendees praised the establishment for its cleanliness and handling of antisocial issues, with no concerns raised about the proposed hour extension. The board decided to take this information under advisement.
Another request for a different Kentucky Fried Chicken location on American Legion Highway aimed to adjust the operating schedule from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. Similarly, there were no attendees at the corresponding abutters meeting, and no active civic association was present to express concerns.
