During the meeting, an idea was presented to introduce the Dignity Index in Conway, a concept developed by Tim Shriver and others, which aims to encourage more respectful and constructive public discourse. The index ranges from one to eight, with higher scores promoting the inherent worth of individuals and respectful interactions. Board members considered making the index materials available at town meetings as a way to improve the quality of public conversations, aligning with the town’s values of civil engagement and community respect.

In addition to these discussions, the board touched on several other topics, including updates on grant applications and earmarked funds for local projects such as infrastructure improvements and emergency services equipment.
