One notable issue discussed was the lack of a Board Chair, as no nominations were made during the meeting. A member mentioned that an interested candidate had applied to join the board, but further discussion and nominations were postponed to a future meeting.

The Board of Health also tackled the organization of the upcoming rabies clinic, traditionally held in September. Due to the absence of a Township Veterinarian and the missed deadlines for vaccine procurement, the board members leaned towards postponing the clinic. They discussed the possibility of directing residents to other upcoming Middlesex County rabies clinics while emphasizing the need to update the public with alternative options.

On a positive note, the board celebrated achieving full compliance in pet licensing, with no need for enforcement measures to ensure adherence.

Further, the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign was pointed out as the lead organizer for the flu clinic this year, rather than the township participating in the Middlesex County flu clinic.
