The meeting commenced with an acknowledgment of the Mobile Police Chaplains, an important part of the community’s support system since the first chaplain was sworn in back in 2014. These chaplains, now a group of 13, are appointed annually and serve both the police and fire departments. Their duties include offering emotional support during critical incidents, assisting with family notifications in cases of untimely deaths, and engaging with juveniles in trouble through station house adjustments. They also serve as school chaplains, providing necessary emotional support to staff, students, and families. The chaplains were praised for their commitment and were represented at the meeting by several members, including Chaplain Gary Holden and others.

Following the recognition of the chaplains, the meeting featured performances by the Millville High School Chamber Choir and Madrigal Ensemble. Both groups have received accolades for their performances, with the Madrigal Ensemble previously winning first place at a regional competition.
