At the forefront of the meeting was the detailed presentation by the superintendent on the status of HIB investigations. From January 1 to June 30, 2024, the district completed 821 investigations, with 101 confirmed cases of bullying. These cases were categorized by various bases, including race, sexual orientation, and disability, with a emphasis on providing services such as counseling and training. The board members were tasked with affirming the superintendent’s decisions on these cases, and they did so unanimously.

The meeting also included a public hearing on student safety data. The data presented included incidents of violence, vandalism, and substance abuse.

In addition to the HIB discussions, the board approved the entire agenda, which included personnel reports, payment authorizations, and contract awards. The approval process was completed with roll call votes.
