Fairfield School Board Celebrates ‘Best in the Nest’ Students; Budget Preparations Underway
- Meeting Overview:
The Fairfield School Board meeting highlighted student achievements and ongoing budget preparations. Students from Stevenson Elementary were celebrated as “Best in the Nest” for exemplifying school values, while the board’s business administrator provided an update on the budget process.
In a gathering that drew a large crowd, the school board celebrated Stevenson Elementary students recognized as “Cardinals of the Month” from September through December. Superintendent Ryan Gupta explained the “Best in the Nest” initiative, which honors students who exhibit qualities such as respect, responsibility, and empathy. During the meeting, students from kindergarten through second grade were called up to receive certificates.
The meeting also included a brief update on the fiscal planning for the upcoming year. The business administrator reported progress in budget development, noting that the state’s budget software had recently become accessible. This development allows for continued work towards finalizing a tentative budget, which is expected to be ready for review in the February meeting.
