Adjustmentsttention was also given to the variances requested for keeping chickens within the city. Brian and Cheryl De Oliveira received approval for keeping up to 12 chickens at their property, following confirmation that they had the appropriate facilities and pest control measures in place. Maria Lemos was also granted a variance for keeping chickens, with a maximum of 20 allowed on her property. Lastly, Antonio Sousa’s request for a variance was approved after a detailed inspection and discussion about maintaining the property and adhering to city regulations.

In addition to these approvals, the meeting addressed staffing challenges within the Fall River Health Department. The department is currently facing vacancies due to the departure of two key staff members, including the epidemiologist and the Mass in Motion coordinator. Efforts are underway to fill these positions, with multiple job openings posted and interviews being conducted.
