The authority awarded a three-year contract, with a potential one-year renewal, to Lydia’s Cleaning Service for the cleaning and preparation of vacant housing units. The total contract value is up to $103,100, covering all three years, excluding the renewal. The contract aims to ensure efficient turnover of units, adhering to HUD-mandated goals for unit leasing.

In addition, a six-month contract for plumbing supplies was awarded to three local vendors: Wind Supply of Fall River, Supply New England, and Plumbers Supply. Each vendor’s contract is not to exceed $50,000.

The authority also awarded a six-month contract for electrical supplies to Electrical Wholesalers, Inc., with a value not exceeding $50,000. These contracts support the internal maintenance teams in closing out work orders swiftly and maintaining housing standards.

Beyond contracts, the authority received praise for its Section 8 department, which achieved a 97% score from HUD. The authority’s staff were recognized for their exceptional work in administering the program.

The meeting also noted a change in the schedule for the next board meeting, moved to August 18. Additionally, the authority expressed condolences for the victims of a recent local fire and acknowledged the efforts of first responders.
