The meeting commenced with the certification of election results from November 4, 2025. Keith Goslin, Michelle Perez, and John T. McTiernan were confirmed as elected board members, each to serve a three-year term. Following the confirmation, these members took their oaths of office.

The board then proceeded to elect its new leadership. Ms. Holly Morell was elected as the president of the Fort Lee Board of Education through a roll call vote, receiving unanimous support from her fellow board members. Similarly, Ms. Kristen Richter was elected vice president, also with unanimous approval.

Following the leadership elections, the board opened the floor to public comments. Although there were no significant public comments, one community member, Catherine Conn, expressed her enthusiasm and pride in the board’s work.

In the administrative portion of the meeting, the board adopted the school code of ethics, with each member publicly reading a section to reaffirm their commitment to ethical governance.

Additionally, the board addressed logistical matters, including the approval of workshops for new board members. These workshops, scheduled to be held at the Crowne Plaza Princeton Conference Center, are intended to orient and equip the new members with essential knowledge and skills for effective governance.
