The denial of the use variance for the Independent Freight’s pallet recycling operation was another vital topic of discussion. The Glassboro Housing Authority had appealed against the variance granted by the zoning board, leading to a review of the facts by the council members. After considerable discussion, the council members reached a consensus, resulting in a unanimous vote to deny the variance.

In addition to these issues, the meeting also featured the approval of several resolutions and ordinances. The Glassboro Planning Board was authorized to review an additional plan amendment to the Redevelopment Plan, and a Redevelopment Agreement with Nexus Parking Systems LLC was executed. A public hearing and the adoption of an ordinance authorized the execution of a deed of sanitary sewer easement for a local bakery.

The meeting also included the acceptance of a resignation from the Green Team. Committee reports provided updates on finance, the football team’s success, recent street clearing efforts after a snowstorm, and ongoing water and sewer department projects.
