The recognition is significant, as only ten districts nationwide received this honor. The board acknowledged the efforts of both staff and students in achieving this distinction.

Another decision made during the meeting was the revision of the school calendar. Due to unused snow days, the district extended the Memorial Day weekend by an additional day, granting students and staff a longer break. Superintendent Dirk Phillips announced that May 26th would serve as a snow day giveback.

The board also discussed the ongoing state budget process, emphasizing that while many districts are advocating for increased state aid due to rising costs, Glen Ridge does not expect changes to its current aid figures.
