Glen Rock Middle School Celebrates Class of 2028
- Meeting Overview:
The recent Glen Rock School Board meeting was marked by a celebratory tone as the middle school class of 2028 was honored during a promotional ceremony. Students, teachers, and a military veteran came together to recognize academic achievement, integrity, and leadership among the graduating students.
The highlight of the Glen Rock School Board meeting was the presentation of the Citizenship and Leadership Awards. Cole Schwarzbeck received the Citizenship Award, while Kelly Starik and Ryan Brunetti were honored with the Leadership Award. These awards are given to students who have demonstrated exceptional qualities that the Glen Rock School community highly values, such as academic achievement, integrity, and positive contributions.
The ceremony was further enriched by speeches from the principal and students. The students shared their personal reflections and experiences, offering a glimpse into the impact of their middle school years on their personal growth and aspirations. Elana Danziger spoke about her journey and the approaching transition to high school, emphasizing personal development and preparedness for the next stage in their education. Courtney Diamantis expressed appreciation for the school’s influence on her passion for musical theater and the acquisition of practical skills.
Adding to the significance of the event, Commander Robert Steinberg, an army veteran, presented the awards, emphasizing the value of citizenship and leadership in his address. His presence underscored the importance of these qualities as foundations for future success and contributions to society.
The academic and personal achievements of the entire eighth-grade class were also celebrated with the presentation of certificates. This traditional gesture symbolizes the completion of one phase of education and the readiness to embark on another.
The meeting included musical performances, highlighting the artistic talents of the students and their role in the school community. The combination of speeches, awards, and performances created an atmosphere of celebration and reflection.
Although the meeting was a platform for celebration, it also served as a reminder of the continuous support and encouragement provided by the school board and staff throughout the students’ educational journey.
