The board approved the Director of Finance job description following the retirement of the current Director. Additionally, the board approved changes in hours for paraprofessionals for the 2024-2025 school year, aligning with student needs and schedules.

Transportation updates were provided by Bill Drummer, the general manager of 4.0 School Services, who reported on the current operations, which include 14 school bus routes and three mini-bus routes. He noted a statewide increase in student transportation accidents, prompting daily safety reminders for drivers. Concerns about impaired driving were addressed, with assurance given that all drivers are subject to random drug testing per FMCSA rules. The board discussed the importance of maintaining open communication channels with parents regarding bus activities and safety concerns.

The board also highlighted the successful formation of a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), improving the relationship between parents and teachers. The Administration was praised for organizing the PTO and strengthening connections with teaching staff. The Superintendent provided updates on upcoming community events, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new greenhouse and ongoing operations of community education programs.

In terms of infrastructure, the business manager reported on the Silver Lake Street project, with the current assessment for the school set at $70,100, lower than the initial expectations. The assessment will affect the 2026-2027 school year, with a final hearing scheduled for the fall of 2026. The board discussed payment options to avoid interest penalties, opting to budget the assessment into the school year.
