Eustis Local Planning Agency Considers Annexation and Land Use Change

Overview: In a recent meeting, the Eustis Local Planning Agency discussed a significant land use designation change and annexation request for a quarter-acre property at the end of Blaine Street, south of Maine Avenue. The property, owned by Dennis Martin and represented by applicant Eagle Homes’ Zack Huer, is anticipated to be annexed into the city with a suburban residential designation allowing up to five dwelling units per acre. This request aligns with the residential nature of the surrounding area and has been reviewed according to relevant Florida statutes and land development regulations.

Overview: In a recent meeting of the Eustis Local Planning Agency, several substantial proposals for land development were discussed, with the most significant being a request by Green Links for a change in future land use designation which raised concerns about flood zoning and environmental impact. The agency also debated on a request by Invisage Homes for a reclassification of future land use, and an ordinance to realign the city’s Land Development regulations with the 2023 Florida Building Codes.
