- Meeting Overview:
The Hillsdale Borough Council adopted a new ordinance related to the borough code during their recent meeting, despite the absence of one council member. The ordinance, pertaining to part nine of the borough code, was passed after a public hearing and subsequent vote. Each present council member voted in favor of the adoption.
The meeting also addressed procedures for the implementation of the steep slope ordinance. It was noted that this ordinance will become effective in 20 days and must be filed as a development ordinance. The due diligence required for this process was confirmed by an attending member.
Community events were also highlighted during the council’s commentaries. There was a brief mention of a successful holiday tree lighting event, which was well attended by local children and organized with the help of Dan Kanty. The council expressed appreciation for the community’s involvement and extended holiday greetings and well-wishes for the New Year to residents.
