They discussed the anticipated rollout of an online permitting process by September 1st, which aims to improve compliance and streamline the application process. This system will document each step and comment throughout the permitting process, though challenges are expected during its initial implementation.

The Select Board also engaged in a thorough discussion about proposed changes to the town charter. Concerns were expressed by multiple board members regarding the timeline and the nature of the proposed revisions. Some members felt that the process was moving too quickly, with insufficient community outreach and feedback. The conversation highlighted the potential impact of changing the appointment structure of the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) from appointed to elected at-large members. This change would allow the fee to adjust automatically with future FEMA rate increases.
