With a student body of 2,300, supervision and appropriate use of time were key considerations. Although data showed a slight increase in student incidents compared to the previous year, the superintendent assured that disciplinary measures are implemented fairly. A new schedule is being developed to introduce “JAG time,” a dedicated period for academic help and extracurricular engagement, set to begin in early December.

The board received reports from its various standing committees, providing updates on capital projects, financial status, and educational initiatives. Notable among these was the Jackson Education Foundation’s awarding of grants to support district teachers and programs, including funds for a literacy grant aimed at enhancing reading skills across grades. The transportation committee also highlighted ongoing challenges such as bus driver recruitment and the need for improved traffic safety measures.

A notable highlight was the recognition of the Jackson Township High School marching band’s achievement in winning the New Jersey state band championship. The board praised the band’s success and announced a forthcoming holiday performance in December.
