The meeting began with a moment of silence for Angelo Milo, a former fire chief and volunteer who served the youth of Keansburg. Board members then proceeded to address an extensive list of personnel items which included nonprofessional employment, interim board secretary appointments, professional staff transfers, and various leaves of absence. One leave of absence was tabled due to an update, as the concerned individual’s baby was born.

In the financial arena, the board approved appropriation transfers and certified that no line item had been overexpanded. They also approved the purchase of 75 iPads for educational use. A discussion took place regarding the reimbursement of costs for the installation of electronic distribution facilities at Keansburg High School, with an agreement that the district may be reimbursed over the next ten years.

The board approved several shared service agreements, including those for special class 3 officers and a school resource officer, highlighting the district’s focus on student safety. The agreements with local boroughs for the use of fields and courts, the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County for counseling and social services at no cost to the district, and Genesis for student information systems were also confirmed.

Educational programs were also a focus, with the approval of summer enrichment programs and curriculum writing. Furthermore, the board discussed a field hockey program in collaboration with Keyport School District.
