Keansburg School Board Honors Educators of the Year Amid District-Wide Celebrations

Similarly, Ms. Angela Melie, also from Caruso, was celebrated for her organizational skills and ability to manage diverse student needs.
The celebration of excellence continued with Ms. Rebecca Domus being named Instructional Support Professional of the Year at Bulger, commended for her strong relationships with students and her willingness to go beyond her designated role. At Boulder Middle School, Principal Joe Lorraco announced Ms. Tara Kakowski as Teacher of the Year, further recognizing her commitment to nurturing meaningful student relationships. At the high school, Mr. John Bird recognized Mr. Bill Padone as Support Staff Member of the Year, emphasizing his balance of security responsibilities and relationship-building with students. Ms. Danielle Myra was named Kingsburg High School’s Teacher of the Year for her contributions to inclusivity and civic engagement.
The board meeting also served as a platform to express gratitude toward its members during school board appreciation month. The environmental club’s ongoing collection of linens and blankets for the Mammoth County SPCA was recognized, alongside notable athletic achievements. The wrestling team placed fifth at the Buck Classic, with individual accolades for Shawn Rea, while the boys and girls basketball teams demonstrated strong performances in recent tournaments.
In financial matters, the board confirmed all financial matters were in good standing, with no overexpended line items for December 2025. An annual audit report for the 2024-2025 school year showed no findings, reassuring the board of the district’s financial health. A public complaint from a previous meeting regarding board members’ residency was addressed, with the board attorney confirming the concerns were unfounded.
