Council members Heather Albala-Doyle and Chris D’Antuono were officially sworn in after winning re-election. With their re-election, the council took the opportunity to shuffle some committee assignments. Notably, Heather Albala-Doyle will now chair the Tourism Commission, taking over from Hawley Scull, who has served in the role for several years. Scull will now chair the Board of Education and Recreation Committee, previously led by Albala-Doyle, highlighting the council’s strategic realignment to address community needs.

Douglas E. Witte accepted his nomination for Council President once again, praising the collaborative efforts of the council. He emphasized the importance of the council’s work as it enters the next century of Lake Como’s history, with various projects in progress and new initiatives on the horizon.

In legislative matters, the council approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Monmouth County SPCA for animal control services through the end of 2025. Another resolution authorized an agreement with a dental services organization. These resolutions reflect the council’s ongoing efforts to maintain essential services and benefits for its constituents.
