A key highlight of the meeting was the planned revamp of Leisure Park. The demolition of old equipment has been completed, and the new equipment is on-site at the Department of Public Works. The installation is expected to begin within the next two weeks, pending engineer approval of elevation plans. Once construction commences, the project is anticipated to be completed quickly due to its smaller scale.

In addition to the park, the council discussed the ongoing renovations at the senior center. A final walkthrough with the contractor and engineers is scheduled, which will focus on a punch list of outstanding items. Once these are addressed, the center will be cleaned and prepared for the return of the seniors.

Another topic of interest was the potential use of an existing ice-skating rink for the upcoming holiday stroll in December. While there are considerations about its usability, the council remains optimistic about finding a suitable location for it within the park or on a large sidewalk. If the rink cannot be used, alternative plans will be considered.

The meeting also introduced the 2026 municipal budget ordinance, which allows the budget appropriation limit to be exceeded and establishes a cap bank. The final adoption of this ordinance is scheduled for June 9th, alongside the budget hearing.

Additionally, the council approved two ordinances: one amending zoning regulations and another updating general licensing regulations. Both ordinances were passed after public hearings without opposition.
