In addition to the lease agreement, Perrapato announced that Little Ferry’s preschool has been awarded a four-star rating, the highest possible by the state of New Jersey. The preschool has also been selected as a demonstration site for best practices, an accolade recognizing the efforts of faculty and students in the program.

The meeting also covered various routine reports and updates. Fiscal reports were delivered, noting a net profit for the district’s food service program. The district is also preparing to go out to bid for a new kitchen in the school cafeteria. Additionally, the governor’s budget speech, typically scheduled for late February, has been delayed, affecting the release of state aid figures.

Other highlights included recognition of January’s Students of the Month from grades five to eight, praised for their dedication and leadership qualities. A representative from the student council reported on activities such as the recent Random Acts of Kindness Week and described the scheduling process for upcoming high school freshmen.

During the public comment session, questions were raised about logistical aspects of the new lease, including parking availability and the specific offices being relocated. The superintendent addressed these concerns, emphasizing ongoing discussions with local authorities to mitigate parking limitations and clarify office hour arrangements.
