The board acknowledged a donation of a ping pong table from a local couple and expressed gratitude for the contribution. They also highlighted the Long Hill Foundation’s Force program, which will see a new coordinator taking over, and promoted the upcoming Color Run event and the first day school supplies fundraiser.

An update on the regionalization study funded by the state of New Jersey was provided, with a team from Rowan University leading the analysis of educational programs, demographic trends, and future budget challenges. The study aims to forecast state aid and provide insights into the district’s strategic planning.

The board praised the teachers and paraprofessionals for facilitating authentic learning experiences, including presentations from professionals such as an arborist, dog trainer, and entomologist.

The superintendent reported on ongoing standardized testing, shared services agreements, and the installation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across the district. A new pilot program involving a puppy at the Millington school was announced.

Several committee reports were also discussed during the meeting. The Finance Committee examined health plan options to manage cost increases, and the RFPs and Bids Committee reviewed bids for after-care services and professional services, addressing the school lunch program and integrated pest management. The Governance Committee worked on defining the district’s mission and vision, with plans to submit a proposal for a conference presentation.
