The board approved a total budget of $25,925,132 for the 2023-2024 academic year, with the largest portion allocated to the General Fund ($24,336,884), followed by the Special Revenue Fund ($804,098), and the Debt Service Fund ($784,150). A local tax levy of $21,471,771 was also approved to support the budget.

In other matters, the board authorized the attendance of Ms. Jennifer Pfohl, Business Administrator, at the 2023 Annual New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) conference, to be held in Atlantic City, NJ, from June 6 to June 9, 2023. The conference’s estimated cost, encompassing registration, travel, accommodations, and meals, is approximately $905.52.

The board also approved an agreement with accounting firm Lerch, Vinci & Bliss for services related to the district’s approved referendum and sale of school bonds. The fee for these services is capped at $18,000, excluding out-of-pocket expenses.

Despite the absence of board members Mr. Bendezu and Mr. Velez, the meeting saw the unanimous approval of all motions presented, demonstrating the board’s unified stance on these fiscal and administrative decisions.
