A major highlight of the evening was the announcement that 29 students from Middleborough High School were recognized as AP scholars. This recognition was divided into three categories: AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor, and AP Scholars with Distinction. The ceremony acknowledged a total of 29 students for achieving qualifying scores in at least three AP exams. Among these, eight students graduated as AP Scholars with Honor, maintaining an average score of 3.25 across their exams, while seven students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction for achieving scores of three or higher on five or more exams. This achievement was celebrated as a proud moment for the Middleborough school community.

The evening also spotlighted the achievements of the Project Lead the Way program, which offers pathways in biomedical science, engineering, and computer science. Students who completed these pathways received certificates and medals for their efforts. The program, a first of its kind at Middleborough High School, emphasized the importance of STEM education, with students like Nathan Baldwin and Ryan Gamash being recognized for their accomplishments in computer science. Angela Watanke and Danica Yavorski were recognized by the Society of Women Engineers for their contributions to promoting women in STEM fields. Watanke also received the Mark S. Mobly Excellence in Computer Science Award for her dedication to the subject.

The School to Career program was another focal point, with several students honored for their exceptional work during senior internships. The Harvey F. Brooks Jr. School to Career Award acknowledged students who demonstrated responsibility and professionalism in their internship experiences. Notably, Phoebe Murray was awarded the Fire Science Jake Award for her commitment and teamwork, qualities essential to the fire service.

Beyond academics and career preparation, the meeting also recognized students involved in community service and leadership roles. The class of 2026 was noted for collectively contributing over 10,462 hours of community service during their high school years, with Selena Gabbor achieving the highest individual contribution of 367 hours.

The meeting also celebrated the arts, with students from the Speech and Theater Workshop acknowledged for their contributions to successful productions. Seniors like Annabelle Carbone and Khloe Degan were commended for their excellence in theater, having directed their own shows, while leadership within the workshop was recognized for fostering creativity and organization.

In sports, student-athletes were celebrated for their accomplishments, with awards such as the National Federation of High School Certificate of Excellence and the Most Outstanding Sichum Athlete awards being presented. These accolades highlighted the students’ dedication to athletics and their ability to balance sports with academic pursuits.
