During the meeting, Chief Michael Lipincott was commended for his two decades of service, which began on December 5, 2004, as a career firefighter after 14 years as a volunteer. John Wetstein III was sworn in as the new Fire Chief, expressing gratitude to the council and his family. His family, including his parents and daughter, attended the ceremony, although another daughter could not be present due to college commitments.
