The union’s high membership percentage allowed Moorhead’s campaign to benefit from two mailings funded by Education Minnesota, totaling over $8,800 in in-kind contributions.

The success of the campaign was also attributed to an extensive phone banking operation, with volunteers making over 23,000 calls. This effort included participation from teachers, other union leaders, and community members, resulting in over 250 volunteer hours. The feedback from the community was largely supportive, with many expressing the importance of retaining teachers and supporting students, though some concerns about past financial management were noted.

Additionally, the board accepted monetary donations from various donors, including Edward Jones Trust and Les Schwab, aimed at supporting homeless services and transportation costs. The board expressed gratitude and directed the administration to send thank you letters to the donors.

The meeting also included the first reading of several district policies, with no changes, and a discussion on the scheduling of the December meeting to accommodate truth and taxation requirements. The board decided to hold the meeting after 6 p.m. to avoid conflicts with other regulations and community events.
