- Meeting Overview:
The New Milford Borough Council, in its recent meeting, unanimously passed four ordinances. The Council also appointed two residents to local boards and briefly discussed the impact of a recent storm on the community.
The first ordinance to pass was intended to curb outdoor feeding, amending chapter bh4 of the revised General ordinances. This was followed by an amendment to overnight parking regulations, which will now include exceptions for the period from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the week of Thanksgiving, and from December 15th through January 15th.
The third ordinance passed renamed and amended chapter 22 to identify specific vehicles that are prohibited from parking on the street or public property. The final ordinance passed aimed at establishing the salary ranges for all full-time and part-time positions within the borough, an administrative matter done on an annual basis.
In addition to the ordinances, the Council appointed Joseph Cook to the Historic Preservation Alternate 2 position and Pablo Rivera to the Rent Leveling Board. Both appointments were met with unanimous approval.
The Council also took a moment to reflect on the recent storm that affected the east coast and impacted local residents. Mayor Michael Putrino led the meeting in a moment of silent prayer and reflection for those affected.
