Similarly, other schools are facing extended timelines, with installations planned for the summer of 2025.

Despite the delays, the contracts for the projects have not seen any price increases, and the board has not levied any penalties at this point. The board members expressed their frustration with the delays but acknowledged that the orders for switch gears were already in manufacturing, limiting their options for expediting the process. They also recognized the contractor’s efforts to address the challenges and maintain open communication.

Another community member questioned the project management and potential cost variations arising from the delay. In response, details on the equipment ordering timeline were shared, and the board assured that contingency planning and contractor accountability would be discussed in future meetings. Additionally, it was emphasized that the contractor had not been paid for work that was not completed.

Aside from the construction issues, the superintendent reported an enrollment of 2,359 students for the upcoming school year, including 34 out-of-district students. The board also reviewed the Advanced Placement (AP) test scores, discussing the increase in the number of AP students and the exams taken. It was noted that there had been an improvement in the percentage of students scoring three or higher on the exams, and an increase in students earning AP Scholar accolades compared to the previous year.
