In infrastructure developments, the board discussed ongoing work at the county’s parking lot, where tree removal has been completed in preparation for a larger project. This project, which involves repaving, relining, and improved lighting, is scheduled to go out to bid in December, with work anticipated in the spring. A single local resident expressed dissatisfaction with the tree removal, although the board clarified the trees were either diseased or rotting.

Additionally, the Commissioners approved part two of an electricity provider contract with Mantis Energy Group. The agreement covers the remaining county buildings, aligning all contracts to expire simultaneously. This 10-month contract ensures that all buildings will have synchronized expiration dates, facilitating future negotiations for consistent rates.

The board also highlighted community engagement activities, including a recent meeting with members of the Brookline Town Meeting Association. This meeting aimed to promote the work of Norfolk County and discuss future collaborations. The Commissioners emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with local communities to enhance county services.
