During the meeting, various members expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve on the CIB. Members underscored the training received, the leadership provided by the Executive Director, and the support of the North Miami Police Department as key elements that contributed to the board’s success.

The City of North Miami was acknowledged for its wisdom in creating the CIB, and the North Miami Police Department was praised for its positive and exemplary conduct in collaborating with the board. The importance of the CIB’s work in setting a standard for other departments in terms of community outreach and engagement was also noted.

The Executive Director, Dr. Philip C. Harris, was specially recognized for his leadership and contributions to the board. He thanked the mayor and city council for establishing the board, as well as the city administration and the city manager’s office for providing the necessary resources. Dr. Harris also emphasized the collaborative nature of the work with the police department and the collective efforts to ensure the city’s safety.
