On the other hand, opposition to the policy was vocal, with concerns about child endangerment, violation of parental rights, and the promotion of ideologies deemed harmful by some speakers. This topic elicited emotional and scientific arguments, with speakers citing statistics, personal testimonies, and potential legal ramifications.

The board also addressed the DEI committee’s work, which included a survey sent to parents and students to assess the school’s inclusivity. Kim Lindley, a former special education teacher, advocated for better support for black and Latino students, while Charles Breitweiser and Reverend Gregory Quinlan voiced strong opposition to DEI policies.

Other topics included the remembrance of Isa Satelli, the presentation of an award to Christopher Bordoni for his special education PTA involvement, and the superintendent’s report on violence, vandalism, and substance abuse incidents. The superintendent also highlighted transportation safety initiatives and addressed a recent tragic event in the community, underlining the need for mutual support.

In terms of school operations, various resolutions were passed, covering finance, athletics, personnel, and other administrative matters. A discussion on the structure and organization of committees ensued, with particular attention to the roles of committee chairs and the limits on the number of board members in confidential meetings.
