As the final question was posed without answer choices being read aloud, the competition’s excitement reached its peak. Ultimately, the Novelist Knights from Northshore Elementary secured the championship, amassing an impressive total of 1,850 points. Participants were celebrated for their efforts and teamwork, with the winning team promised a plaque, and all students receiving a free book as a token of appreciation.

In the middle school category, the competition was equally intense. Teams like Fitzgerald Phantoms, Main Character Energy, and East Lake Rising Readers contended in a series of rounds where questions required not only answers but also textual evidence. The Novel Bunch from Madira Beach Fundamental Middle School demonstrated exceptional literary skills, winning the championship with a score of 1,900 points. Their victory was celebrated alongside Palm Harbor Middle School, who took second place, and the Fitzgerald Phantoms, who finished third.

Throughout the event, the use of textual evidence was stressed, with participants required to cite page numbers and specific passages to substantiate their answers. This rigorous approach highlighted the competition’s educational value, emphasizing critical thinking and comprehension.
