The second variance request came from John Glazer, who sought approval for a fence replacement on his property adjacent to a paper road known as Clare Lane. The existing sliding gate, a remnant from when Glazer used the area for commercial vehicle parking, became a focal point of discussion. A neighbor questioned the necessity of the sliding gate, given the road’s current state as a non-drivable path. The board found no compelling reason to deny the variance, emphasizing the gate’s long-standing existence and lack of impact on the neighborhood.

In addition to variance approvals, the board addressed the appointment of a representative to the Open Space Committee. Despite initial hesitations, a volunteer stepped forward to cover the March meeting, with plans to revisit the matter for future months.
