The construction site, previously a dog track, has undergone extensive demolition and clearing work, with the removal of building foundations and contaminated soils underway. The project team is also awaiting the migration of nesting ospreys before further site expansion. Progress includes setting up construction trailers, erecting erosion control barriers, and preparing for full site clearing and excavation.

The council discussed the submission of 60% construction documents to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) and the process for addressing feedback. The next submission, for 90% construction documents, is due by the end of September, with peer reviews in progress. The council plans to present a comprehensive financial update in November, following additional bid evaluations.

Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr. shared that Revere received inquiries from another town about the relatively lower cost of the school project. The council remains focused on maintaining the project’s momentum and ensuring it continues to align with budgetary constraints.
