Revere Cultural Council to Host Summer Award Event for Local Projects
- Meeting Overview:
In the latest meeting, the Revere Cultural Council announced plans to host an award event this summer to recognize and celebrate local projects funded by the council.
The council has allocated an administrative fee of $853 for the event, which will feature presentations from awardees about their projects. The council is seeking a venue, with a preference for donated or cost-effective spaces due to budget constraints. Suggestions for outdoor venues, such as parks or school grounds, were considered as potential options. The council plans to reconvene in March to finalize event details and is seeking volunteers to assist in venue selection.
During the meeting, it was also disclosed that Revere Public Schools received the highest funding, with $23,687 allocated for their projects. Other beneficiaries include Immaculate Conception, which received $1,500, and senior centers, which obtained $6,290. Additionally, Mass General Youth Zone was awarded $520, and various community events received $10,250.
Award recipients are encouraged to participate in the upcoming event, which will serve as a platform to highlight their work. The council expressed a willingness to attend and support these projects and invited organizers to include them in planning meetings. They also requested feedback and photos from the funded events to share through social media channels, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and visibility.
