Sixth-grade students were commended for their rigorous engagement in lessons that contributed to their success on the NJSLA.

In mathematics, River Edge students consistently surpassed state averages by significant margins, with proficiency rates often doubling state benchmarks. The board acknowledged the foundational skills built in early grades as crucial for long-term success, noting the role of consultant Dennis Sheeran in enhancing math instruction practices.

The board discussed the importance of addressing performance gaps between schools, with a commitment to further analyze the disparities. This analysis would consider various factors, including demographic differences and instructional approaches, to ensure equitable academic opportunities for all students.
