Superintendent Melissa Signore began with a report on the district’s activities, stressing the busy schedule ahead with music concerts, the middle school play, elementary field days, and other events. She encouraged the community to stay informed about these activities. Reflecting on the recent natural occurrences, she praised the district’s teachers for turning these into educational experiences for the students.

Signore also mentioned the ongoing third round of linkit assessments, with students in grades 3 through 8 preparing for the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment. She wished everyone a restful and healthy spring break.

Kelly Ippolito, School Business Administrator/Board Secretary, reminded board members of mandatory trainings and disclosure filings. She also noted that the New Jersey School Boards Workshop would take place from October 21st to 24th. Ippolito updated the board on renovations at Woodside school and preparations for additional work during spring break. She concluded with the announcement that the county office had approved the district’s tentative technical budget.

During the public comments section, a parent expressed concerns about the lack of cafeterias in the schools and the challenges it poses for parents, especially when they forget to order their child’s lunch. The board addressed the issue, outlining the measures in place to ensure no child goes without a meal, including coordination with local restaurants for food delivery.

The board approved various resolutions, including general, business, and personnel matters. One notable personnel resolution acknowledged the departure of a staff member, with board members expressing their appreciation for the individual’s contributions to the district.
