In a recent meeting, the Saddle River School Board resolved to award contracts for masonry improvements and ceiling tile replacements in the coming year.
On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, the board convened a Special/Regular Business meeting at 9:13 AM in Room 1N. Vice-President Mrs. Emily Kaufman took charge, with board members John Peros, Yasmin Elshami, Evelyn Nissirios, and Elizabeth Salazer on the attendance list. Superintendent Dr. Gina Cinotti was also present.
A significant portion of the meeting revolved around the 2023-24 Masonry Improvements Project. After receiving a series of bids from various companies, the board opted to reject certain bids, paving the way for the award of the project. Madina Restoration Inc. emerged as the chosen bidder, with an accepted proposal of $64,000.
The Board further discussed and approved the ceiling tile replacements project, which entails both ceiling tiles and electrical work. Commercial Interiors will undertake the ceiling tile replacements at a cost not exceeding $195,895.20. MTB Electric LLC will handle the electrical portion, with costs capped at $24,972.10. Additionally, fire alarm work relating to the ceiling project was awarded to Open Systems Integrators at an estimated price of $49,647.
Another item that gained approval was a change order from Matina & Sons Inc., concerning the 2023-24 Capital Drainage Project. The initial contract amount of $75,000 saw a reduction by $5,000, setting the new total cost at $70,000.
