In another significant agenda item, the council approved the hiring of Adam Gailing as the new community development coordinator. This decision follows the promotion of the previous coordinator to city clerk. Gailing, who was selected after two rounds of interviews with multiple candidates, will start on March 16th at a pay grade of 12.3.

The council also approved a consulting work agreement for a lead service line replacement project. The city secured a $425,000 grant to assist with the design and construction of replacing lead utility service lines. The agreement with SEH (Short Elliott Hendrickson Incorporated) will cover the creation of plan sets necessary for grant approvals, with fees estimated at $32,100, to be reimbursed by the grant.
