Kenneth Miles, founder and publisher of the Trenton Journal, introduced the publication to the board. Miles highlighted the Journal’s mission to provide consistent coverage of local institutions. He emphasized the role of strong local journalism in fostering transparency and public accountability. The Trenton Journal, with a diversified revenue model including grants and community support, aims to remain independent while serving the public interest.

The board also discussed updates to its strategic planning process, with new dates set for meetings in April, May, and June. These meetings will be held at Trenton Central High School.

In response to recent snowstorms, the board acknowledged temporary transportation challenges and the efforts of staff and the buildings and grounds team in ensuring student safety. With all emergency days used, the board is considering making up for lost time by holding classes on the Friday before spring break, should additional snow days be necessary.
