Issues cited included consulting and paper shuffling expenditures for the Union County Courthouse, solar engineering at Galloping Hill Golf Course, and architectural and management services for the Warren Ano Ice Rink. The public also expressed apprehensions about the Ashbrook Clubhouse operations and a residency waiver within the Department of Human Services. Following this, the board members engaged in discussions to clarify the resolutions’ details, addressing the transparency and necessity of the expenditures.

During the session, the topic of autism awareness was a focal point. A commissioner announced that the Union County Courthouse would be illuminated in blue on April 2nd in recognition of Autism Awareness Day. Furthermore, the board highlighted an autism acceptance celebration planned for April 20th, encouraging county residents to join in support.

Commissioner James E. Baker expressed his appreciation to the county’s department heads, staff, and fiscal committee for their diligent work on the budget, emphasizing the collective effort required to manage county finances effectively.
