During the recent Union School Board meeting, the election of new leadership emerged as the focal point. Newly elected officials Chastity Santana and Kimberly Scott-Hayden took their oaths of office, with Dixiana Carbonell assuming the role of board president and Scott-Hayden elected as vice president. The meeting began with the administration of the oath of office to new board members by Senator Joe Cryan. Elected members, including Chastity Santana and Kimberly Scott-Hayden, expressed their dedication to serving the school board and the community. The selection of Dixiana Carbonell as president followed, receiving unanimous support from the board. Carbonell addressed the assembly, expressing her gratitude and outlining her vision for the board’s future. Her emphasis was on fostering unity among families, educators, and the community to create an inclusive educational environment.
Kimberly Scott-Hayden’s election as vice president also passed unanimously, and she emphasized the significance of setting high expectations for students. In her remarks, she thanked her family for their support and reiterated her commitment to the board’s objectives.
