The emphasis was on using AI to support critical thinking and revision rather than generating original ideas. A framework for evaluating AI tools, known as the pivot framework, was introduced, focusing on purpose, inclusivity, value, oversight, and tracking.

The board deliberated on developing AI literacy by grade level. Discussions included comparisons with models from Warren and Westfield, with Westfield focusing on developing specific dispositions rather than emphasizing tools. The committee is drafting a high-level guiding AI policy and intends to work collaboratively with tech and AI committees to create a detailed implementation plan. The board set a goal for 75% of families and community members to feel informed and engaged by June 2027, acknowledging this as a baseline for improvement.
