The construction adhered to approved plans, with minor adjustments reducing the dock’s float size. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection approved the reduced footprint, and the commission issued a full certificate of compliance, reflecting satisfaction with the completed work.

The meeting also touched on future improvements to the Xbridge Landing dock system. The Landing Commission plans to remove two steel piles and repurpose one as support for new floats. The commission endorsed the proposal, emphasizing the need for compliance with Chapter 91 regulations, which require fixed piers rather than floating systems that rest on the riverbed. This initiative aims to enhance the dock’s resilience in severe weather conditions and meet regulatory standards.
