The council also conducted a public hearing to review and update the city’s fee schedule for 2026. Changes include a new $150 hanger reinspection fee and increased fees for rental housing permits, annexations, and various planning services. These adjustments aim to better align service costs with actual expenses incurred by the city.

Further, the council finalized the 2026 property tax levy and budget. The levy was set at $2,134,972. This increase was noted to be lower than the preliminary projection, which had suggested an 11.7% rise. The approved budget outlines $5,792,477 in revenues against $6,372,458 in expenditures.

Lastly, the council discussed ongoing negotiations with AT&T regarding equipment upgrades on the city’s water tower.
