The business will operate as a production site with no retail or public access, and it will employ enhanced security and ventilation measures to minimize impact on the surrounding community. Council members noted that the facility is located in an industrial area and will adhere to strict zoning and environmental standards. The permit will terminate upon a change in ownership or if the applicant loses their state license. Despite some concerns from nearby Grace Church, the council found no legal grounds to oppose the permit, resulting in its approval following a roll call vote.

Additionally, the council addressed the city’s aging fire truck, authorizing nearly $300,000 for its refurbishment. The fire apparatus, critical for rescue operations and safety in the industrial park area, will undergo extensive updates by Blaine Brothers and Rosenbauer to extend its service life until 2035. This decision was made in light of the prohibitive cost of a new ladder truck, which would range from $1.7 to $2.2 million. The refurbishment will include engine rebuilding and updating non-engine components to current standards.
